The task force is expected to meet in April 2026 with local construction departments and selected transport firms that have reported sharp fare increases in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Dak Lak.

The head of the task force is authorized to adjust and expand the list of localities and entities under review depending on market developments, with at least two working days’ notice.

The Ministry has instructed local departments to prepare reports focusing on fare management, the impact of fuel prices on transport operations and supply, and compliance with regulations on price declaration and listing.

Reports must clarify the reasons for fare adjustments, compare listed and actual fares, and assess compliance among transport operators. Local authorities are also required to provide updates on fare movements, policy responses amid fuel price fluctuations, and specific recommendations.

Transport firms with fare increases of more than 30% are required to submit fare declaration documents for the two most recent reporting periods, along with supporting reports, for comprehensive review.
