Continued investment and production expansion

TongWei Vietnam Electronics Co., Ltd. in An Duong Industrial Park plans to officially put its Phase 3 facility into operation in the 4th quarter of 2026. This is one indication of the growing demand among Chinese businesses to expand their operations in Hai Phong. The successive implementation of the company's investment phases shows that Hai Phong remains a preferred destination for the firm to develop production.

The growth of Chinese enterprises is also linked to investment in industrial infrastructure. An Duong Industrial Park, developed by Shenyue Joint Investment Co., Ltd., covers 196.1 hectares and hosts 43 projects with total registered capital of approximately USD 1.1 billion. Its industrial land occupancy rate has reached around 85%, reflecting the success in attracting secondary investors following the development and operation of the park's infrastructure.

Alongside businesses from mainland China, Pegatron Vietnam Co., Ltd., backed by an investor from Taiwan (China), is continuing to implement a large-scale project in Hai Phong. The project has a total investment of USD 800 million and covers 35.71 hectares. After completing Phase 1, which includes two workshops and auxiliary facilities, the company is continuing the construction of facilities under Phase 2. The company expects its total revenue in 2026 to increase by approximately 19.59% compared with 2025.

With more than 800 projects and total capital exceeding USD 13 billion, Chinese enterprises have become an important part of Hai Phong's investment and production activities. The city's advantages in seaports, industrial park and economic zone infrastructure, and trade connectivity have created favorable conditions for businesses to expand their operations and pursue long-term development. These successive investment plans also create further opportunities to attract suppliers, develop supporting industries and services, and generate employment in the city.

As existing businesses continue to expand production, Hai Phong is also welcoming more Chinese investors seeking to explore cooperation opportunities. The city's investment promotion activities, together with networking initiatives by business organizations, are helping investors access information, identify partners and study potential projects.

Li Wei, Chairman of the Association of Chinese Enterprises in Hai Phong, said that since the beginning of the year, many Chinese businesses had visited the city to explore opportunities and expressed their interest in investing there. They viewed Hai Phong as a city with significant potential and room for growth. As the city is undergoing rapid development, it offers numerous business opportunities.

Li spoke highly of the role of the Hai Phong Vietnam-China Business Club in promoting exchanges and connecting partners and expressed his hope that ties between the club and the Chinese business community would continue to strengthen.

Alongside networking activities within the business community, Hai Phong has proactively promoted investment in potential localities. The recent Hai Phong Investment Promotion Conference in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, attracted nearly 200 Chinese businesses.

At the conference, Hai Phong leaders presented investment registration certificates for newly approved projects and projects receiving increased capital, as well as memoranda of understanding with Chinese investors. The total capital involved amounted to nearly USD 380 million. These outcomes opened up opportunities for new projects to be implemented, existing projects to expand, and cooperation initiatives under consideration to move forward.

In the first ten months of 2026, Hai Phong is estimated to have attracted USD 3,802.92 million in foreign investment, up 69% year on year and equivalent to 96.4% of its annual target. Of this amount, industrial parks and economic zones lured USD 3,453.39 million, continuing to play a leading role. Chinese businesses exploring opportunities, implementing new projects and expanding their investments are helping strengthen the city's industrial production capacity and provide additional momentum for the city’s growth.
