Several newly amended laws concerning enterprises and workers have recently come into effect. As a result, the dissemination of legal knowledge to enterprises and workers in Hai Phong city is even more urgent.
Best Pacific Vietnam Co., Ltd. in VSIP industrial park, western Hai Phong specializes in supplying fabrics and elastic bands for globally renowned fashion brands such as Adidas, Victoria’s Secret, Uniqlo, Triumph, GAP, Target, and Under Armour.
The company places strong emphasis on legal education for its workforce, especially focusing on fire prevention and firefighting due to the flammable nature of its products.
Best Pacific Vietnam’s leader Shi Hong Wei said that the enterprise frequently co-organizes legal awareness and fire safety education activities for its workers. Whenever new regulations are issued, the company and its trade union proactively coordinate with the upper-level trade union to disseminate information to the firm’s trade-unionists.
"The more the workers understand the law, the more confidently they work. In turn, our enterprise also gains confidence in decisions on personnel, salaries, and policies," said Shi Hong Wei.
The newly amended Laws on Social Insurance and Employment, recently passed by the National Assembly, introduce several changes, including expanding subjects to compulsory social insurance, adding provisions on voluntary unemployment insurance, and changing the calculation methods for contribution and benefit periods…, which have a far-reaching impact on labor relations, workers’ rights, and corporate obligations.
To narrow the gap between legal provisions and enterprise practices, legal representative agencies need to proactively implement flexible legal communication models to make laws more accessible to workers.
Many grassroots trade unions have also actively updated legal content on internal communication channels, organized legal knowledge contests, invited experts for direct consultation, and especially broadcasted legal information daily through loudspeaker systems installed in teams and production workshops.
According to Nguyen Van Phiet, Vice President of the city Federation of Labor, the unit will promptly update the latest revisions related to the Law on Trade Unions. At the same time, it will carry out widespread dissemination of the new contents and points of the law to officials, union members, and workers so that they can understand and effectively follow the law, contributing to the development of harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations.
In the context of global integration, labor environment standards, human rights, and corporate social responsibility are increasingly gaining attention from international organizations and business partners. Therefore, compliance with labor laws is no longer optional but a prerequisite for businesses to access markets.
