In today’s fast-paced society, young people are distinguishing themselves not only through academic achievement and professional ambition, but also through sustained engagement in community initiatives.

Sharing love

For more than a decade, the Hai Duong Youth Club for Blood Donation has maintained regular engagement in social initiatives. Initially formed to connect students from universities and colleges in the western part of the city through blood donation, the club has gradually expanded its activities.

Currently comprising around 200 members, the club continues to attract student participation. Beyond blood donation campaigns, members regularly organize visits to offer gifts and raise funds for people in need.

Established in 2018, the “Song Se Chia” Charity Group has also built a steady presence in humanitarian activities. The group consists of 50 official members and 30 collaborators, most of them young residents and students in Hai Phong.

Its programs focus primarily on orphans, children from low-income families and those facing serious illnesses. Through initiatives such as “Back to School with You,” “Bringing Joy to Children” and “Mid-Autumn of Love,” the group provides financial assistance, school supplies and essential goods, helping children maintain their education and daily routines.

Self-improvement

For many young participants, community involvement is not only about helping others but also about personal growth.

Nguyen Thi Thuy Tien, a student at Hai Duong University and an active club member, said that despite academic pressures, she prioritizes volunteer initiatives. Participating in community activities, she noted, allows her to develop living skills, empathy and a stronger sense of responsibility.

Similarly, Nguyen Xuan Nam, a student at Thanh Dong University, regularly joins social initiatives organized by his school and local authorities. He believes volunteer activities helps young people cultivate discipline, teamwork and leadership abilities while broadening their understanding of social issues.

The expansion of youth clubs and volunteer groups in Hai Phong reflects a growing awareness among young people of their role in community development. Through sustained engagement in charitable activities, they not only extend practical support to vulnerable groups but also equip themselves with experiences and values that contribute to their long-term personal development.
