Techfest Haiphong 2025 inspires and motivates the spread of innovation, reaffirming Hai Phong’s pioneering role in implementing the Politburo’s Resolution 57.

The Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology held the opening ceremony of Techfest Haiphong 2025 under the theme “Unlimited creativity – Hai Phong reaching out to the world” on October 9 at the city Convention and Performance Center.
Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh; Dr. Chang Joon Yeon, Vice President of the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST); and representatives from several embassies in Vietnam attended the event, among others.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister Hoang Minh said Techfest Haiphong 2025 took place at a particularly meaningful time, as the city had just successfully held its first Party Congress after the merger with Hai Duong province, becoming the locality with the third-largest economy in the country, possessing comprehensive infrastructure and a dynamic maritime economy. This, he said, forms a solid foundation for Hai Phong to move toward its goal of becoming a leading national and regional innovation hub.

He urged the city to continue supporting the synchronized development of all components of the startup ecosystem and to strengthen connections with national and international ecosystems. He also called for the early establishment of a venture capital fund and a science and innovation fund, as well as investment in innovation infrastructure to attract both domestic and foreign technology enterprises, thereby turning Hai Phong into a “testing ground for future technologies” and a regional and global “technology hub.”

In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Hoang Minh Cuong affirmed that after nine years of organization, Techfest Haiphong has become a signature annual event and a hallmark of the city’s innovation movement, a platform connecting ideas and resources, contributing to spreading creativity and ambition among young people, intellectuals, and businesses.
He expressed hope that the business community, scientists, investors, and startups would join hands to create breakthrough products and make Hai Phong a shining example of innovation and entrepreneurship in Vietnam. The city, he emphasized, is committed to providing all favorable conditions for science, technology, and innovation to truly become driving forces for its sustainable development.

This year’s Techfest Haiphong 2025 is held on an international scale, bringing together more than 3,000 delegates, 170 booths, and over 1,000 technology and innovation products. The exhibits and discussions focus on trending topics such as generative AI, digital economy, semiconductor industry, and high-quality human resource development.
The participation of KIST also opens opportunities for cooperation, technology transfer, and promotion of the innovation ecosystem in the Northern coastal region.
Taking place from October 9 to 11, Techfest Haiphong 2025 features 12 main activities, including the forum “Resolution 57-NQ/TW – the runway for science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation”; the seminar “Hai Phong’s marine science and technology: strategic vision and breakthrough proposals”; a conference introducing Halal standards; the workshop “Generative AI – startup trends and digital economy development in Hai Phong”; along with multiple technology supply-demand matching events, investment promotion programs, and startup networking activities.

The exhibition area includes 125 physical booths, 125 online booths on the hatex.vn technology trading platform, and 50 OCOP booths showcasing Hai Phong’s and other localities’ signature products.
Online activities have attracted more than 10,000 visits through digital platforms such as the virtual exhibition techfesthaiphong.vn, social networking sites, and YouTube.
The event also welcomes international delegates from Israel, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology, leaders of neighboring localities, research institutes, universities, science and technology organizations, and major enterprises.
