Kien An Ward (Hai Phong City) is hosting the ‘Happy Days 2026’ series to boost the night-time economy, local services, and tourism.

Creating night-time urban attraction
In the early days of May, the area around Hanh Phuc Lake has buzzed with more activity than usual. Stages, stalls, scenic displays, and artistic lighting clusters are being finalized to prepare for a continuous seven-day-and-night event series (May 10-16) in support of the Red Flamboyant Festival - Hai Phong 2026.
After renovations, Hanh Phuc Lake Flower Garden has taken on a fresh look with pedestrian paths, cohesive landscapes, lighting systems, and open spaces for community activities.
According to the Kien An Ward People's Committee, ‘Happy Days 2026’ is tied to the inauguration of the Hanh Phuc Lake Flower Garden project. From this urban upgrading initiative, the locality aims to transform the site into a regular cultural, entertainment, and service hub, especially on weekends.
A key highlight this year is the pilot night-time economy model. The lakeside area will feature dozens of stalls showcasing OCOP products, digital technology, regional cuisine, and community activities.
Opening new development paths

Amid many localities seeking new growth opportunities from services and tourism, the night-time economy stands out as a high-potential direction. For Kien An Ward, ‘Happy Days 2026’ goes beyond supporting the city festival, it's a test run for a new urban development model.
Kien An Ward is building the ‘Kien An - Destination of Happiness’ brand, rooted in community culture and centered on residents’ quality of life.
Organizing these night-time activities also helps reshape the urban rhythm in the city's western central area. Instead of thriving only during the day, commercial, recreational, and entertainment activities now extend into the evening, generating more consumer demand and job opportunities for residents./.
