Peach and kumquat growers in An Duong gear up for Lunar New Year

With the 2026 Lunar New Year approaching, ornamental plant growers in the former An Duong area, now An Duong and An Hai wards of Hai Phong, are bustling.

Facing forecasts of severe cold during the Lunar New Year, peach growers are carefully tending their trees to ensure timely blossoms for the holiday.

In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, peach fields in Kien Phong and Minh Kha residential quarters (An Hai Ward), as well as Dan Hanh and Tri Yeu residential quarters (An Duong Ward), are set to bloom just in time for the Lunar New Year, bringing vibrant colors to Tet celebrations.

Ancient peach trees shaped into unique forms, prized for their high economic value, have long become a hallmark of growers in An Hai and An Duong wards.

Mr. Do Dinh Thang, from Tri Yeu residential quarter, An Duong Ward, said his family has about six quintals of ornamental plants for Tet sale, including around 200 peach trees and 150 kumquat trees. He added that the family has invested all their resources and effort throughout the year, hoping for favorable weather so that peach and kumquat trees can fetch good prices during Tet.
