Following the Lunar New Year holiday, the city’s traffic police have maintained intensive patrols.

As the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday concluded, the city recorded encouraging results. Traffic accidents declined across all three indicators compared with the same period last year. The improvement reflects the strong efforts of functional agencies and increased awareness among road users.

During the Tet holiday, traffic police maintained intensive patrols and inspections, handling nearly 1,200 violations. Authorities temporarily impounded 398 vehicles, revoked 47 driving licenses, and imposed administrative fines totaling nearly VND 4.2 billion.

Despite the positive results, officials warn against complacency and enhance vigilance. Drink-driving violations remain a major concern. While Tet is a time for gatherings and celebrations, the law makes no exceptions.

Hai Phong is undergoing rapid development, with increasing traffic flows and expanding logistics, port and industrial activities. In this context, ensuring a safe and orderly traffic environment is becoming ever more urgent. A modern and civilized city cannot be built if its roads remain exposed to careless or irresponsible behavior.

Maintaining traffic safety in the post-Tet peak period is not solely the responsibility of authorities but also depends on the awareness and responsibility of every driver.
