Since July 2026, the Hai Phong Youth Union has partnered with supporters to implement a program to restore portraits of fallen soldiers.

The program is divided into two main phases, each linked to a significant historical milestone. The first phase took place to mark War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), and the second is part of a series of activities leading up to the 80th Traditional Day of the city's armed forces (November 20, 1946 – 2026).
The City Youth Union has led the initiative in coordination with the City Military Command, the Skyline martyrs' portrait restoration group and supporting units to find and restore faded and blurred photographs of fallen soldiers.
Respecting the original photographs and carefully preserving identifying features based on information and memories provided by families, the youngsters have applied modern technology to restore the soldiers' appearances as faithfully as possible and then returned these invaluable keepsakes to their families.

By October 24, the City Youth Union had jointly restored and presented 200 portraits of fallen soldiers to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and martyrs' relatives across the city.
These restored photographs represent more than image-processing work. They serve as a bridge connecting the past with the present, conveying the city youth's affection, respect and heartfelt gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives for the Fatherland.
In the coming period, the City Youth Union will continue to expand the program, aiming to complete the restoration and presentation of portraits to all families of fallen soldiers across the city on request.
