Hai Phong to be affected by cold air from Sep 9 evening

According to the Hai Phong Hydro-Meteorological Station, a cold air mass is moving southward and forecast to affect Hai Phong at around tonight, September 9.

From then through September 11, Hai Phong will be mostly cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms, followed by no rain. During thunderstorms, people should be alert to whirlwinds, lightning, hail and strong gusts.

From the night of September 9, the weather will turn cooler, with the lowest temperatures during the period generally ranging from 23 to 25 degrees Celsius.

In wards in the city center such as Thuy Nguyen, Le Chan and Hai An, the lowest temperatures on the night of September 9 and during the day on September 10 are likely to range from 24 to 26 degrees Celsius, with average temperatures of 27 - 28 degrees Celsius.

On the night of September 10 and during the day on September 11, the lowest temperatures will range from 24 to 26 degrees Celsius, while average temperatures will fall to 26 - 27 degrees Celsius.

In western areas of the city such as Chi Linh, Kinh Mon and Thanh Ha, the lowest temperatures will range from 23 to 25 degrees Celsius, with average temperatures of 25 - 26 degrees Celsius.

In the wards and communes of Hai Duong, Cam Giang, Tu Ky, Ninh Giang, Thanh Mien and Kim Thanh, the lowest temperatures will range from 23 to 25 degrees Celsius, with average temperatures of 26 - 27 degrees Celsius.

In the wards and special zones of Do Son, Duong Kinh and Cat Hai, from the night of September 9 through September 10, the lowest temperatures will range from 24 to 26 degrees Celsius, with average temperatures of 27 - 28 degrees Celsius.

In the waters off Do Son, Cat Hai and Lan Ha Bay, northeast winds of force 3 - 4 and waves 0.5 - 1 m high are forecast from the night of September 9.

The meteorological agency warns that thunderstorms in the coming days may be accompanied by whirlwinds, lightning, hail and strong gusts, affecting agricultural production and causing trees to break or fall, as well as damage to houses, transport facilities and infrastructure. Strong winds and high waves at sea may also affect marine economic activities.
