Forecasts indicate that due to a strong cold air mass, temperatures across Hai Phong will drop further from the night of October 26 to October 27, with some areas dropping as low as 18°C.
A cold air mass began affecting Hai Phong round early morning on October 26, according to the city Hydrometeorological Station.
Under the influence of this dry cold air, Hai Phong will experience no rain, with sunny intervals during midday and afternoon, and cold weather at night and early in the morning. The lowest temperatures will generally range from 18°C to 20°C.
At sea, the Gulf of Tonkin, including Bach Long Vi special zone, will experience strong northeasterly winds at level 6, gusting to level 7, with rough seas and wave heights of 1.5 – 2.5 m.
Forecasts for October 26 show that the wards of Thuy Nguyen, Le Chan, and Hai An will have minimum temperatures of 19 – 21°C. The wards and communes of Kien An, An Duong, An Lao, Tien Lang, Vinh Bao, Chi Linh, Kinh Mon, Thanh Ha, Hai Duong, Cam Giang, Tu Ky, Ninh Giang, Thanh Mien, and Kim Thanh will see minimum temperatures from 19.5 – 21.5°C. The wards and special zones of Do Son, Duong Kinh, and Cat Hai will have minimum temperatures from 21 – 23°C, while Bach Long Vi special zone will record 21.5 – 23.5°C.
For the night of October 26 and day of October 27, temperatures across the city are likely to further drop. The wards of Thuy Nguyen, Le Chan, Hai An, Chi Linh, Kinh Mon, and Thanh Ha will be the coldest areas, with minimum temperatures ranging from 18 – 20°C. The wards and communes of Hai Duong, Cam Giang, Tu Ky, Ninh Giang, Thanh Mien, Kim Thanh, Kien An, An Duong, An Lao, Tien Lang, and Vinh Bao will see temperatures from 18.5 – 20.5°C. The wards and special zones of Do Son, Duong Kinh, Cat Hai, and Bach Long Vi will have minimum temperatures between 20 – 22°C.
