At the meeting, K-Water presented the findings of its research into integrated water resource management in Hai Phong, with a vision to 2050. Based on the findings, the corporation proposed five strategies, broken down into 21 tasks, including nine non-structural measures and 12 infrastructure projects. The proposed solutions focus on dealing with floods, ensuring stable freshwater supply, controlling pollution, improving self-supply of water on islands, and integrating digital data.
City leaders and representatives of relevant departments and sectors discussed and clarified various issues with K-Water representatives, including the proposed strategies and solutions, their compatibility with the city’s master plan and sectoral plans, available resources and implementation roadmaps.

Highly appreciating K-Water’s international experience and proposals, Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Do Thanh Trung called on the corporation to continue its research and develop specific solutions for each area. He also asked K-Water to identify priority locations for wastewater treatment, water supply development or application of suitable urban water management models. For the proposed infrastructure works and projects, the locations, preliminary scale, land requirements and plans for connection to existing systems should be clearly defined.
Trung called for clear assignment of responsibilities to departments, sectors and water supply companies to ensure close coordination with K-Water in completing the integrated water resource management plan for Hai Phong on schedule. The goal is to develop a comprehensive, feasible solution supported by a database, with clearly defined priorities, to ensure the city’s long-term water security.
