A delegation from Hai Phong, led by Le Van Hieu, Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee and Chairman of the city People’s Council, has held talks with the Embassy of Vietnam in Egypt during its working visit to the country.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Nguyen Nam Duong received and worked with the delegation.
At the meeting, Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Council Le Van Hieu expressed his appreciation for and highly valued the active contributions of the embassy to fostering and promoting multifaceted friendship and cooperation between the two countries over the past time.
He provided an overview of Hai Phong, highlighting the city’s prominent potential and advantages, particularly its role as a major port city, a center for the maritime economy and logistics, and an important international trade gateway of northern Vietnam.

Ambassador Nguyen Nam Duong spoke highly of Hai Phong’s position, development orientation, and potential for international cooperation, and suggested exploring and promoting cooperation between Hai Phong and the port city of Port Said, in Port Said governorate of Egypt.
According to the Ambassador, Port Said is one of Egypt’s strategic seaport hubs, located at the entrance to the Suez Canal, sharing many similarities with Hai Phong in terms of function, location, and development potential, with ample room for cooperation in port economy, logistics, trade, tourism, and cultural exchanges.
The delegation’s working visit to Egypt aims to enhance exchanges and understanding of the traditions and cultural identity of the heritage-rich North African country, while gradually connecting and expanding cooperative relations between Hai Phong and Egyptian localities.
The visit also helps further deepen the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Egypt, laying the groundwork for studying and implementing specific cooperation programs between Hai Phong and the port city of Port Said in the coming period.
