Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Le Tien Chau, together with other city leaders and more than 1,200 athletes, has taken part in a race to celebrate the success of the first Party Congress of the city.
At 5 am on September 28, thousands of people gathered at Ngu Nhac parking lot, within the Con Son – Kiep Bac relic site, ready to conquer the “Steps of the Congress – Heritage Beats 2025” race.
The race was co-organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Tran Hung Dao Ward People’s Committee and the city Youth Union. It was a practical activity to celebrate the success of the first Hai Phong Party Congress, 2025 – 2030 tenure.
The competition featured two distances: 5 km and 10 km on the route around Con Son lake.
Secretary of the city Party Committee Le Tien Chau participated in the 10 km distance, joining more than 1,200 runners who were Youth Union members, young people, officials, and workers from various clubs, businesses, schools, and social organizations across the city.
The race also attracted many independent runners and teams, including notable participants such as AAV Group, Vietnam Rubber Group’s Urban and Industrial Park Development JSC., and Tri Duc Inter-level School.
Hundreds of supporters and local residents came to cheer, creating a vibrant atmosphere that fostered community unity. Many athletes shared that running on a track located right in the heart of a world cultural heritage site was a special experience, making every step more meaningful and full of pride.
The race concluded with joy and pride, leaving a strong impression of sportsmanship, solidarity, and the aspiration to build Hai Phong into an increasingly civilized, modern city rich in cultural identity.
