Hai Phong city pledges to accompany, remove difficulties, and create favorable conditions for Ford Vietnam to expand investment and develop stably and sustainably.
Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Le Tien Chau chaired a working session with the leadership of Ford Vietnam on September 12.
Chau congratulated Ford on its achievements over the past 30 years in Vietnam and acknowledged the company’s positive contributions to the socio-economic development of Vietnam in general and the former Hai Duong province, now Hai Phong city, in particular.
He emphasized that the city is committed to always accompanying businesses, not only in favorable times but also in difficult periods. Hai Phong affirms that only when businesses succeed can the locality develop. Therefore, the city will stand side by side with enterprises to remove obstacles, safeguard their legitimate interests, and provide effective support for stable and sustainable development.
The Secretary also highlighted that after the merger, Hai Phong has become the third-largest economy in the country and has been granted by the Central Government many outstanding special mechanisms and policies, including a free trade zone, a completely new model in Vietnam. This is an opportunity for Ford Vietnam to study and plan to expand operations in Hai Phong, both to enjoy special incentives and to continue making practical contributions to the city’s development in the new phase.
Ford Vietnam General Director Ruchik Shah expressed his deep gratitude for the attention and warm reception from Hai Phong’s leaders, and highly appreciated the city’s support that enabled Ford Vietnam to participate in Hai Phong’s zone at the National Achievements Exhibition. He said this was an important opportunity for Ford Vietnam to affirm its brand position and accompany the development of the port city.
According to Ruchik Shah, in 2024, Ford Vietnam achieved record sales of 42,175 vehicles, up 10% compared to 2023, accounting for 10% of the national automobile market share. Currently, over 70% of Ford’s production in Vietnam is domestically assembled vehicles.
He affirmed that Vietnam in general and Hai Phong in particular remain key markets for Ford, and committed to researching and developing more new car models to meet consumer demand and contribute positively to Hai Phong’s development.
