Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee Le Tien Chau kindly inquired after and acknowledged the efforts of war veteran Dinh Xuan Due in overcoming hardships.
Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee Le Tien Chau visited and presented a gift to war veteran Dinh Xuan Due in Thang Loi residential group, Hong An ward on July 21 morning on the occasion of the 78th War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 – 2025).
Due is a 2/4 war invalid with 61% bodily damage and affected by toxic chemicals. He and his family have consistently complied with the Party’s guidelines and the State’s laws and policies. They actively participate in cultural life development movements and have been recognized for many years as an exemplary cultural family.
Secretary Le Tien Chau kindly inquired after Due’s health and acknowledged his and his family’s efforts to overcome hardships.
Chau encouraged Due to continue preserving his health and upholding the revolutionary soldier’s spirit and qualities, serving as a moral pillar for younger generations to follow and contributing positively to the local development.
The Secretary emphasized that July is a time for the entire Party and people to honor the tradition of “remembering the source of the water we drink” and to express deep gratitude to those who dedicated their youth and even their lives for the nation's independence and freedom.
He stressed that despite the city undergoing administrative reorganization, urban expansion, and active storm preparedness, Hai Phong has consistently maintained comprehensive and uninterrupted care for policy beneficiaries and those with meritorious service.
The city Party chief affirmed that social welfare and support for policy families must always be given special attention and prioritized. This is a regular political task and a shared responsibility of the Party, authorities, and people of Hai Phong to provide both material and emotional support and to show respect and appreciation for the sacrifices of those who contributed to the revolution.
Secretary Chau also reiterated the city’s commitment to maintaining and ensuring full implementation of policies for people with meritorious service across both the eastern and western parts of the city, thereby fostering the spirit of gratitude and promoting traditional values throughout society.
