It is forecast that from now until the next three hours, convective clouds may move in and cause thunderstorms over several wards and communes of Hai Phong city.
Radar images at 6 am this morning (September 12) showed convective clouds developing over Bach Dang, Nam Trieu, and Nhi Chau wards of Hai Phong, according to the city Hydrometeorological Station.
Besides, convective clouds from Quang Ninh province are also moving toward Hai Phong.
It is forecast that from now until the next three hours, these convective clouds may move in and cause thunderstorms in the above-mentioned areas as well as neighboring wards and communes, including Kien An, Hung Dao, Duong Kinh, An Hung, An Khanh, An Quang, An Truong, An Lao, Kien Thuy, Kien Minh, Kien Hai, Kien Hung, Nghi Duong, Quyet Thang, Tien Lang, Tan Minh, Tien Minh, Chan Hung, Hung Thang, Vinh Bao, Nguyen Binh Khiem, Vinh Am, Vinh Hai, Vinh Hoa, Vinh Thinh, Vinh Thuan, and nearby areas.
Experts warned that during thunderstorms, precautions should be taken against whirlwinds, lightning, and strong gusts, which could break trees, damage houses, traffic works, and infrastructure, posing risks to human life, aquaculture activities, and fishing vessels at sea.
