Rainfall in Hai Phong over the next three days is expected to range between 60 – 120 mm. Thunderstorms may be accompanied by whirlwinds, lightning, and strong gusts.
According to the Hai Phong Hydro-Meteorological Station, in the past 24 hours, the city has experienced showers and thunderstorms. From 1 am on August 16 to 1 am on August 17, rainfall measured 15 – 30mm on average, with some areas recording higher amounts.
In the next 24 – 48 hours, due to the influence of a trough extending across the Northern region combined with upper-level wind convergence, Hai Phong is forecast to have moderate to heavy rain, with some areas experiencing very heavy downpours and thunderstorms from the morning of August 17 to the early hours of August 19.
Rainfall is expected to reach 60 – 120 mm. Thunderstorms may bring whirlwinds, lightning, and strong winds.
Showers and thunderstorms are predicted to continue in Hai Phong on August 19. The risk of natural disasters from heavy rainfall is rated at level 1.
