Fisheries led growth in Hai Phong’s agricultural sector, expanding 4.06% in the first half of 2026.

According to the Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Environment, the combined output value of crop, forestry and fisheries production in the first six months of 2026 is estimated at VND 39,575 billion, up 2.31% from the same period last year. Fisheries recorded the fastest growth at 4.06%, followed by livestock at 3.05% and crop production at 1.91%.

The city’s aquaculture area remained stable at nearly 24,000 hectares, producing more than 106,000 tonnes, a 5.3% increase over the same period last year. Capture-fishery output reached almost 59,000 tonnes, meeting 50% of the year’s plan.

In crop production, Hai Phong planted nearly 77,000 hectares of spring rice with yields of 6–7 tonnes per hectare; more than 29,000 hectares of winter vegetables; and over 17,400 hectares of spring-season vegetables. The city also has about 28,000 hectares of fruit trees, with key crops including lychee, guava, longan and banana.
