As the plan, the final round of the Do Son Traditional Buffalo Fighting Festival -Do Son VTV 2026 will be held at 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 19 at the Do Son ward central stadium.

On the afternoon of May 21, the Do Son Ward People’s Committee held a meeting to roll out the plan for organizing the Do Son Traditional Buffalo Fighting Festival - Do Son VTV 2026.
This year’s festival will be held in two stages: qualifying round and the final round.
During the qualifying round, ceremonial activities will include an incense-offering ceremony and flag-raising to open the festival on July 14 (Lunar June 1st) at Nghe Temple and Nam Hai Than Vuong Temple; and a deity ritual on the night of July 20 (Lunar June 7th) at Nghe Temple and at the fighting arena in the ward central stadium.
The qualifying round will feature 32 buffaloes, allocated among four communal houses/temples including Nghe Temple, Ngoc Xuyen Communal House, Nam Communal House and Ngoc Hai Communal House. The qualifying round returns this year after an eight-year hiatus.
This is also the second consecutive year that Vietnam Television accompanying Do Son Ward to support and coordinate the festival’s organization, particularly media coverage, live television broadcast, and sideline events.
