A miniature Hai Phong city is recreated at the National Achievements Exhibition marking the 80th National Day. There, visitors can experience and imagine a dynamic, modern coastal city that is strongly rising.
Impressive landmarks and architectural highlights
During the days of the National Achievements Exhibition in Ha Noi, the display area featuring the scale model of Bac Song Cam new urban area, presented by Hoang Huy Group, has attracted a large number of visitors. Many domestic and international guests were impressed by the comprehensively planned new urban space, highlighted by modern high-rise buildings, wide boulevards, and distinctive architectural works.
Among them are the Political–Administrative Center and the Convention–Performance Center of Hai Phong city, designed with inspiration from the sailboats once seen on the Cam river in the early 20th century, as well as from the waves and rivers characteristic of the coastal land. Beyond their architectural beauty, these works symbolize development and embody Hai Phong’s aspiration for renewal and regional as well as national prominence in the new era.
Other booths from construction and real estate enterprises provide further perspectives, showcasing Hai Phong’s strong growth and the modern urban profile of the city with infrastructure, seaport, tourism, and international-standard entertainment projects.
For visitors who have not yet been to Hai Phong, or those who have but not had the chance to see these unique structures and urban innovations firsthand, the exhibition offers a vivid impression of Hai Phong’s development pace.
From riverside fishing village to modern port city
The exhibition not only highlights architectural landmarks but also retraces the urban history of Hai Phong city, from a riverside fishing village tied to the legend of female general Le Chan in the early Common Era to a modern city by the East Sea in the 21st century.
In recent years, Hai Phong’s urban space has been expanding along three breakthrough directions.
To the north, Bac Song Cam new urban area together with Vingroup’s Vu Yen ecological park, housing, and entertainment complex has created a dynamic and modern zone.
To the east, Cat Hai is developing as a hub for services, industry, seaports, and international maritime services.
Extending to the southeast is a new multifunctional urban area with numerous real estate and tourism projects by Him Lam, Geleximco, and BRG, such as the Dragon Hill International Tourism Area, an 18-hole golf course and urban complex, Vinhomes Duong Kinh–Kien Thuy, Lach Tray riverside urban area, and other hotel, educational, and healthcare facilities.
Meanwhile, the historic inner city continues to be renovated and upgraded.
Following the merger with Hai Duong province, Hai Phong’s urban development space has further expanded, gaining new momentum to become the country’s third-largest mega-urban center.
With a coastal orientation and river-based planning, previous strategies have been inherited and incorporated into the city’s new master plan. The model emphasizes a “multi-center city,” with particular investment in western infrastructure to gradually balance urbanization across the entire city.
Through the National Achievements Exhibition, a “miniature Hai Phong” with dynamic snapshots help sketch the portrait of a modern, vibrant city. With its open space, outstanding advantages, and especially its “front-facing” location on the East Sea together with a river network, Hai Phong possesses all the conditions to rise in the new era, aiming to become Vietnam’s third-largest mega-city.
