The Cat Hai special zone People’s Committee has announced an expansion of the permitted operating area for four‑wheeled motorized passenger vehicles (tourist electric vehicles) on Cat Ba.
The newly added route extends from Nui Xe junction (to the Ben Beo parking area in hamlet No. 11, Cat Ba. Operating hours are set from 05:00 to 23:00 daily.
Previously, under a Cat Hai special zone’s notice issued in early May, tourist electric vehicles were allowed to run from 05:00 to 23:00 only on certain key roads in the Cat Ba tourist area, such as the connector between Zone I and Tung Dinh Bay, Tung Dinh Road, Nui Ngoc Road, , Lot 2–Nui Ngoc Road and Cat Tien Road. The stretch from Nui Xe junction to the Ben Beo area had not been included in the authorized area.
Officials say the expansion will improve passenger transport services, meet growing travel demand as well as supporting tourism development on Cat Ba.
The Cat Hai special zone People’s Committee also requires transport businesses and vehicle operators to strictly comply with rules on permitted areas and operating hours, and to ensure traffic order and safety.
