Developing cultural industry

One of the breakthroughs in Resolution No. 80 is recognizing culture as an important endogenous resource capable of directly generating material wealth, added value, and national competitiveness. Cultural industries are identified as the inevitable path to transform cultural values, resources, and the creative capacity of Vietnamese people into high-economic-value products and services, while spreading national identity.

Viet Nam is not only developing cultural industries to meet domestic demand but also aiming to build a national brand through film, performing arts, cultural tourism, design, fashion, music, and more. These are fields rich in identity and high integration potential if invested in professionally.

By 2045, cultural industries and creative economy will become pillars of sustainable development, contributing 9% to GDP. Viet Nam aims to have 10 international renowned art festival brands; 8-10 more UNESCO-recognized heritages; rank in the top 3 in ASEAN and top 30 globally in Soft Power Index and cultural product export value. These goals position cultural industries within a long-term strategy tied closely to building a high-income nation.

Historic breakthrough

According to the chairwoman of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists Tran Thi Thu Dong, Resolution No. 80 marks a breakthrough that helps awaken the nation's soft power. This affirms that culture is not merely for pure enjoyment but becomes a green economic sector, contributing to brand promotion and sovereignty protection in cyberspace. Many researchers affirm this as a practical approach: culture enriches the soul while enriching the nation.

The core focus of the Resolution is people - the creators and beneficiaries. The Resolution aims to form a standard value system for Vietnamese people in the new era, combining tradition and human excellence. This builds cultural resilience against harmful trends.

The chairwoman of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists Tran Thi Thu Dong assesses that Resolution no80 is a comprehensive blueprint to transform cultural resources into substantial strength. The Resolution not only sets specific targets but also outlines key tasks, solutions, and breakthrough policies, demonstrating determination to make culture a strength in the nation's era of development.
