The Central Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics held a gathering on December 12 in Hai Phong to celebrate Christmas 2025.
Attending the event and delivering remarks, Pham Van Lap, Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, provided information on Hai Phong’s socio-economic results in 2025.
He acknowledged and affirmed that, within these overall achievements, the city’s Catholic community has made many important contributions by remaining united and actively participating in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the city, building new-style rural areas and civilized urban spaces, caring for people in difficult circumstances, taking part in environmental protection, and preserving cultural values.

These activities have helped strengthen the great national unity bloc and spread a positive image of a compassionate, united and responsible Catholic community.
Over the past time, the city has consistently focused on consolidating the great national unity bloc, fostering social consensus, caring for the spiritual life of followers of religions, and promoting the role of religious organizations, including the city Committee for Solidarity of Catholics, in mobilizing believers to “live the Gospel in the heart of the nation.”

In the joyful atmosphere of Christmas and preparations to welcome the New Year 2026, the Deputy Secretary of the city Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city wished priests, religious dignitaries and all parishioners a peaceful Christmas filled with love and a new year of good health, happiness and success.
Lap expressed his confidence and called on religious dignitaries, members of religious orders and all parishioners to continue promoting the tradition of unity and charity, and to work alongside the city Party organization, authorities and people in realizing socio-economic development goals and further strengthening the great national unity bloc.
