Cat Hai special zone suspends marine activities in response to tropical depression

Following a notice from the People’s Committee of Cat Hai special zone, since 2 pm on August 18, all operations on the Cat Hai – Phu Long cable car line, as well as tourism and entertainment activities in the coastal and island areas of Cat Hai, have been suspended.

Cat Ba and Cat Hai Border Guard Stations, in coordination with the Management Board of Cat Ba Archipelago Bays, continuously informed and urged fishing vessels at sea, along with all workers on aquaculture rafts and watch huts, to return to safe shelters before 4 pm on August 18.

The special zone People’s Committee also requested the Hai Phong Inland Waterways Port Authority and representatives of the Regional Port Authority No.1 to temporarily suspend the issuance of departure permits for tourist passenger transport vessels until further notice.
