This marks the second time the Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange program has been held, contributing to deepening the friendly and cooperative relations between Hai Phong City and Japanese localities, organizations, and partners.

On the morning of March 14, at Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park (Thien Huong Ward), the Hai Phong City Department of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with SHINEC Joint Stock Company (investor of Nam Cau Kien Industrial Park), organized the 2026 Hai Phong - Nam Cau Kien Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Festival.

Over the years, Vietnam-Japan relations have developed strongly and comprehensively across many fields. After the two countries elevated their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia and the world, bilateral cooperation has deepened, bringing practical benefits. On that foundation, many Japanese organizations and businesses have actively supported Hai Phong City in cultural exchange activities and sustainable development.

The festival features a variety of distinctive cultural activities introducing the traditional beauties of both nations. The organizers created a festive space rich in Japanese cultural colors with numerous experiential activities such as: Hanami cherry blossom viewing; tea ceremony rituals; Yosakoi dance, Taiko drums, and Japanese music; Kimono-Yukata dressing experiences; ‘Cool Japan’ youth culture zone; Akihabara Corner with popular cultural games; Japanese street food village; Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange booths, …
The 2026 Hai Phong - Nam Cau Kien Vietnam-Japan Cultural Exchange Festival aims to enhance exchanges, strengthen friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and Japan, while promoting economic cooperation among businesses, experts, and Vietnamese-Japanese workers in Hai Phong, as well as between Hai Phong City and Japanese localities and enterprises.

At the event, delegates also joined in planting 225 cherry blossom trees donated by Kitakyushu City to Hai Phong City.
