The Hai Phong People's Committee has approved in principle a pilot program for night-time economic development activities in Gia Vien Ward.
A night commercial, cultural and culinary street will be piloted along the road connecting Lach Tray Street with the road around An Bien Lake.
The street will cover the area between the Children's Cultural Palace and the city Martyrs' Memorial, the area between the city Martyrs' Memorial and the Viet Tiep Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, and the lakeside road section behind the city Martyrs' Memorial.
The pilot program will run from 5 pm to midnight daily, from October 15, 2026, to April 15, 2027.
After the pilot period, the Ward People's Committee will assess its effectiveness and send the results to the Department of Finance for consolidation, consideration and reporting to the City People's Committee for direction on implementation in the next phase.
The City People's Committee requires the Ward People's Committee to proactively request close coordination from departments, sectors, agencies and units in the area within their respective functions and responsibilities, ensuring that the night street is organized safely, effectively and in compliance with regulations.
