Developing a diverse night tourism ecosystem is a sustainable solution that will help Hai Phong create distinctive experiences, extend visitors’ stays, and increase the value of the tourism sector.

On the full moon night at Tuong Long Tower, instead of the usual lively entertainment activities, dozens of visitors quietly sat in meditation, breathing in the fresh air and embracing the tranquility of Do Son’s natural surroundings.
These were among the unique experiences offered by the Do Son Night Meditation Tour, which took place at the end of May. After meditating on the peak of Long Son Mountain, the group continued to the area around Ba De Temple Beachto relax to the sound of waves gently rolling ashore. Although lasting only a few hours, the journey gave participants a completely different perspective on Do Son. "I have visited Do Son many times, but this was an entirely new experience. The peaceful atmosphere, refreshing sea breeze, and moonlit scenery made me feel truly relaxed,” said Ms. Hoang Thanh Nga, a visitor joining the night meditation tour.
According to Mr. Pham Hoang Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Do Son Ward People’s Committee, the locality has great potential to develop this type of tourism thanks to its rich natural resources and culturally significant destinations such as Tuong Long Tower, Ba De Temple, and Dau Island. These advantages provide a foundation for developing in-depth experiential tourism products that meet the growing demand for relaxation and wellness among visitors.
Following the initial success, the locality plans to continue coordinating with relevant organizations to regularly organize night meditation, sunrise meditation, wellness exercises, and nature-based experience programs. The goal is to create distinctive tourism products for Do Son, helping extend visitors’ stays and increase tourism spending.
The emergence of the Night Meditation Tour also reflects a new approach to tourism development in Hai Phong. While previous tourism products mainly focused on sightseeing, leisure travel, and culinary experiences, the city is now placing greater emphasis on creating unique experiences with distinctive identities to meet visitors’ increasingly diverse needs.
The Do Son Night Meditation Tour is one of the new products contributing to the diversity of Hai Phong’s night tourism landscape. From the city center to Do Son, Cat Ba, and Vu Yen, many new experiential tourism models are being developed, providing visitors with more options after the city lights come on.

Previously, in 2025, Hai Phong launched the night tour “Sacred Marks of Hang Kenh”, combining heritage with modern technology. It was the city’s first night tourism product to apply 3D mapping projection technology to recreate the historic Bach Dang victory within the space of Hang Kenh Communal House. Lighting, sound, and moving images brought the historical story to life, offering visitors new perspectives on the value of heritage.
Meanwhile, Bach Dang Walking Street and Night Market continues to attract visitors with community art programs held every weekend, serving as an appealing destination for residents in the western area of Hai Phong. Performances by cultural clubs, young music groups, dance teams, and traditional art troupes have transformed the riverside area into a cultural gathering place for locals and tourists.
Mr. Dam Minh Khoi, Director of the Public Service Center of Le Thanh Nghi Ward, said that the locality hopes to continue connecting with professional art organizations to diversify performance programs, while coordinating with relevant sectors to improve infrastructure and organize events, thereby enhancing the appeal of the walking street.
In Cat Ba, alongside its advantages in beaches and natural landscapes, culinary activities, festivals, art performances, and the VUI-Fest Cat Ba Creative Night Market are creating more vibrant destinations for visitors after dark.
At Vinhomes Royal Island (Vu Yen), large-scale music programs and weekend fireworks displays are contributing to a new entertainment and leisure space for the city.
The development of distinctive tourism products in each locality is helping Hai Phong build a diverse picture of night tourism. The unique features of each night tourism product not only expand visitors’ choices but also create a connected chain of experiences.
A new momentum for night tourism will continue to grow as the city prepares to open a pedestrian street in the area around the central flower gardens and the City Opera House. According to the plan, the pedestrian street is expected to open in early August 2026. It will operate from 4:00 PM to midnight every weekend, from Friday through Sunday. The space will combine cuisine, art performances, OCOP product showcases, and digital technology applications to promote destinations, with the goal of developing a night-time economic hub for Hai Phong.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city is shifting from organizing separate, standalone activities toward building a distinctive night tourism ecosystem that harmoniously combines heritage, culture, nature, and modern entertainment. This direction aims to extend visitor stays, increase tourist spending, and create additional momentum for the development of service industries.
