On the afternoon of April 17, the city’s People’s Committee held a conference calling for financial support for the festival, with the participation of representatives from departments, agencies, and many local enterprises.
Speaking at the event, the Vice Chairman emphasized that after many years of organization, the Red Flamboyant Festival has become not only an annual cultural event but also a distinctive brand of Hai Phong. It serves as an occasion to honor the city’s historical traditions, rich cultural identity, and the spirit of its people, while promoting the image of a dynamic, modern, and forward-looking Hai Phong.
He added that the festival has increasingly affirmed its role as a key cultural–tourism product with strong influence, helping to connect the community, stimulate tourism demand, boost trade and services, and enhance the city’s position and image among domestic and international partners and investors.

In 2026, the festival is held as Hai Phong accelerates its goals of rapid and sustainable development, leveraging its potential and advantages to become a modern marine economic center and a highly developed, civilized industrial city with a strong identity. Therefore, the festival is not only expected to create new momentum but also serves as an opportunity for the city to affirm its stature, identity, and aspiration for growth in a new development phase.
The Vice Chairman of the city’s People’s Committee emphasized that for the festival to be successful and create a strong, widespread impact, in addition to the city’s preparations, it requires active support from the business community as well as organizations and individuals. The sponsorship mobilization conference is not only aimed at securing resources but also at strengthening connections, reinforcing trust, and enhancing the partnership between the government and businesses.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the festival will take place throughout May, with peak activities from May 8 to 14, featuring a total of 64 large-scale events implemented citywide. These activities are divided into five main groups, forming a cohesive, in-depth, and widely impactful series of events.
Public communication, decoration, and visual promotion will be carried out simultaneously across major streets, central areas, and local communities, creating a vibrant and dynamic urban atmosphere.
Meanwhile, cultural, artistic, sports, and tourism activities will be especially lively, with a wide range of professional performances, street festivals, sports competitions, experiential tours, and community events—ensuring that each day offers highlights and every area provides engaging experiences for both residents and visitors.

The highlight of the festival will be the opening ceremony on the evening of May 8 at the Central Political–Administrative Square in the Bac Song Cam urban area. The large-scale event is expected to attract 10,000–12,000 spectators in person and millions more via television and digital platforms. The program will be elaborately staged in three artistic chapters, integrating modern technologies such as LED displays, mapping projection, and advanced stage effects, with the participation of many renowned artists, promising a powerful visual and emotional impact.
Within the festival framework, the city will also commence and inaugurate 15 key projects across infrastructure, industry, services, and socio-cultural sectors, reinforcing Hai Phong’s image as a dynamic and rapidly developing city in a new phase.
According to the city’s Military Command, the opening ceremony is expected to feature the largest-ever artistic fireworks display, with more than 2,000 high-altitude fireworks launched in multiple sequences throughout the program and culminating in a grand finale. The total estimated cost is nearly VND 5 billion, creating a major highlight for the festival.
At the conference, many enterprises showed strong support and actively pledged sponsorships. Notable contributors include Vingroup, Thuy Duong Investment Joint Stock Company, Hoang Huy Financial Services Investment JSC, Vicem Hai Phong Company Limited, and Dinh Vu Industrial Park JSC. Total pledged sponsorship recorded at the conference exceeded VND 10 billion.

Vice Chairman of the city People’s Committee, Nguyen Minh Hung, acknowledged and expressed sincere appreciation for the companionship, responsibility, and community spirit demonstrated by the business community. The city leadership committed to using the sponsorship funds effectively and for the intended purposes, ensuring transparency and accountability, thereby contributing to the successful organization of the festival and meeting the expectations of both residents and businesses.
