More rest stops to open on North–South Expressway for Tet 2026

The Vietnam Road Administration has announced the locations of rest stops on the North–South Expressway to meet travel demand during the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday.

On the route from Hanoi to Can Tho, five rest stops are currently in operation: Gie–Ninh Binh; Cao Bo–Mai Son; La Son–Hoa Lien Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh–Dau Giay; and Trung Luong–My Thuan. In addition, a stopping point on the Da Nang–Quang Ngai Expressway has recently been put into service.

For rest stops under development, the Vietnam Road Administration has completed investor selection and signed contracts for all 21 planned facilities. Construction is being accelerated, with most projects expected to be completed in 2026. To ensure traffic safety and travel convenience during Tet 2026, the Vietnam Road Administration also released a list of locations where essential service facilities have been completed and put into operation, including Mai Son–National Highway 45; Nghi Son–Dien Chau; Ham Nghi–Vung Ang; Vung Ang–Bung; Quy Nhon–Chi Thanh; Van Phong–Nha Trang; Nha Trang–Cam Lam; Vinh Hao–Phan Thiet (Km205); and Phan Thiet–Dau Giay.

Rest stops expected to be completed or temporarily operated during the holiday include Bung–Van Ninh; Cam Lo–La Son; Quang Ngai–Hoai Nhon; Hoai Nhon–Quy Nhon; Cam Lam–Vinh Hao; Can Tho–Hau Giang; and Hau Giang–Ca Mau. Among these, five rest stops will provide fuel stations: Mai Son–National Highway 45; Ham Nghi–Vung Ang; Vung Ang–Bung; Vinh Hao–Phan Thiet (Km205); and Quang Ngai–Hoai Nhon.
