On April 3, in Hanoi, two member units of the PetroVietnam, Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) and PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power), along with Vietnam Electricity (EVN) signed key agreements on supplying liquefied natural gas (LNG) for large-scale gas power projects.

Specifically, PV GAS and EVN signed a framework agreement for supplying regasified LNG from the Vung Ang LNG Terminal to the Quang Trach 2&3 Power Plants, scheduled to begin gas supply from April 30, 2029.

At the same time, PV GAS and PV Power signed an addendum to the LNG sales and purchase contract for the Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Power Plant project.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long emphasized that the signing between EVN, PetroVietnam, and their member units is a crucial step toward gradually making imported LNG the main fuel for gas-fired power plants, thereby implementing the Party and State's directives on ensuring national energy security. This signing of the Framework Agreement and contract addendum clearly demonstrates the determination of the industry to secure energy supply, while also strengthening sustainable cooperation among key enterprises in the sector and laying the foundation for long-term development.
