Hai Phong Port TIL International Terminal (HTIT) has handled more than 12,500 TEU aboard the GREENLAND vessel, setting a new record in northern Vietnam.
Hai Phong Port TIL International Terminal (HTIT) has recently handled 12,534 TEU of containers aboard the GREENLAND, operated by shipping line MSC, setting a new record for container throughput on a single vessel.
This is the highest volume handled on a single vessel since HTIT began operations and the highest figure recorded for a single vessel in northern Vietnam. The achievement marks a further step forward in the terminal’s operational capacity amid the continued growth in container vessel sizes and demand for maritime freight transport.
Previously, HTIT set a record by handling 9,042 TEU aboard the NAVARINO. With the volume of 12,534 TEU on the GREENLAND, the terminal increased its previous record by 3,492 TEU, equivalent to approximately 38.6%.
According to HTIT, the achievement was made possible in large part by the cooperative relationship between the terminal and MSC. Close and coordinated cooperation between the two parties has helped improve operational efficiency and meet the requirements of the shipping line and its customers.
