Trade unions at grassroots will step up communications on the 97-year history of the Vietnam Trade Union, while promoting the Party's guidelines and the state's policies and laws on developing the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union. Activities will also support the implementation of the resolution adopted at the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union.
The city federation will organize a conference honoring outstanding and innovative workers, along with a reporting ceremony paying tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh. It will also launch a campaign to recruit new union members and establish grassroots trade unions, admit a new group of members to mark the 97th anniversary, roll out the "Trade Union Meal" program across grassroots unions, and hold a "Month for Listening to Union Members" initiative to hear workers' views and aspirations.
The federation will also expand support for union members and workers facing financial hardship, suffering from serious illnesses or severe workplace injuries, while presenting gifts to union members who are war veterans and children of fallen soldiers ahead of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day on July 27.
The Hai Phong Federation of Labor will organize the finals of the city's men's and women's workers' football tournament, offer incense in tribute to fallen soldiers at several cemeteries in central Vietnam.
The federation has encouraged trade unions at all levels to register at least one project or initiative to mark the anniversary of the Vietnam Trade Union.
Trade unions in communes, wards and special zones will also hold the "Healthy Steps" mass running event to encourage emulation and improve the physical and mental well-being of union members and workers.
