The Hai Phong Department of Construction will temporarily reroute traffic across six bridges in the western region for repair, load testing, and inspection to ensure safety.
The Hai Phong Department of Construction has issued a notice on temporary rerouting and banning of people and vehicles from traveling across Day bridge on provincial road 393 and Van bridge on provincial road 392 to facilitate the replacement and installation of bridge bearings.
Accordingly, all motor vehicles with four or more wheels and special-use motorcycles will be prohibited from crossing Day bridge, located at Km5+800 on provincial road 393 in Yet Kieu and Truong Tan communes, from 6 pm on September 13 until 6 am on September 16.
Vehicles traveling on provincial road 393 from Yet Kieu commune to Truong Tan commune and vice versa will be diverted via the frontage road of Ha Noi – Hai Phong Expressway to the interchange with national highway 38B, then continue 8 km on national highway 38B to Tram Bong intersection, turn right onto provincial road 392 for about 6 km, and finally turn right again at the junction with provincial road 393.
Meanwhile, all motor vehicles with four or more wheels and special-use motorcycles will be prohibited from crossing Van bridge, located at Km37+00 on provincial road 392 in Tu Ky commune, from 6 pm on September 18 until 6 am on September 21.
Vehicles traveling on provincial road 392 from Tu Ky commune to Vinh Lai commune and vice versa will be diverted via provincial road 391 to the interchange with the East-West trunk-road, continue 9 km to the junction with national highway 37, then follow the national highway for about 5 km to the roundabout and turn right back onto provincial road 392.
In another notice, the Department of Construction also announced temporary rerouting at Ngoc Duong, Binh, Thai Quyen, and Huong bridges to facilitate load testing and inspection.
During the testing process, all pedestrians and vehicles will be prohibited from crossing the bridges for a maximum of 15 minutes per cycle, with the procedure repeated until completion.
After each test, vehicles and machinery will be moved to areas that do not affect traffic flow, and during the intervals between tests, pedestrians and vehicles will be allowed to pass the bridges.
The testing and inspection will take place at Ngoc Duong bridge, Km13+550 on provincial road 391 in Tan Ky commune, from 10 pm on September 15 to 4 am on September 16, and again from 10 pm on September 16 to 4 am on September 17. At Binh bridge, Km3+340 on provincial road 395 in Gia Loc commune, the closure will run from 10 pm on September 17 to 4 am on September 18. At Thai Quyen bridge, Km8+500 on provincial road 392 in Duong An and Nguyen Luong Bang communes, the restriction will apply from 10 pm on September 18 to 4 am on September 19, and from 10 pm on September 19 to 4 am on September 20. At Huong bridge, Km11+836 on provincial road 390 in Ha Bac and Thanh Ha communes, the closure will be in effect from 10 pm on September 20 to 4 am on September 21, 2025.
