The UK-based Lloyd’s List has recently released its 2026 ranking of the world’s 100 container ports with the highest cargo throughput.

Notably, in 2026, Hai Phong port climbed three places from 2025 to rank 26th globally.

The result highlights the appeal of Hai Phong port, particularly after four deep-water berths at Lach Huyen officially began operations in the first half of 2025. With six deep-water berths operating in sync, the port’s handling capacity has increased, enabling it to receive and handle the world’s largest container ships.

Hai Phong port is currently considered one of the fastest-growing container gateway ports in Asia.

Lloyd’s List is the world’s oldest maritime news and analysis publication, with a history spanning more than 300 years.

Previously, according to Alphaliner, a global maritime data analytics platform, Hai Phong port ranked 25th among the world’s 30 busiest container ports in the first half of 2026.
