Hai Phong Party Committee’s Standing Board discusses two important issues

Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee Le Tien Chau chaired a meeting of the committee’s Standing Board on December 18 afternoon to hear reports and give opinions on several issues.

The project to build a road connecting Rao 3 bridge to the coastal road section from Bui Vien street to provincial road 363 has a total investment of more than 3,858 billion VND, funded by the city budget, with an implementation period from 2025 to 2029.

The city People’s Committee approved the plan and budget for organizing a design competition for the architecture of Rao 3 bridge over the Lach Tray river.

Finally, the “Wings of Waves and Light” design proposed by Transport Engineering Design Inc. (TEDI) won first prize. Accordingly, the main bridge will use a steel arch structure with vertical hangers, with a total length of 344 m and a width of 49 m. The 2 m-wide sidewalks will curve at both ends of the bridge, connecting to the riverside pedestrian roads on both banks.

After hearing a report of the Party Committee of the city People’s Committee, the Standing Board of the city Party Committee agreed on the selection of the architectural plan “Wings of Waves and Light” and assigned the Party Committee of the city People’s Committee to direct the implementation of subsequent steps in accordance with regulations.

The Standing Board of the city Party Committee also agreed to promulgate a resolution on building and implementing several socialism models associated with socialist people in the city in the 2025 – 2030 period and subsequent years.

The structure of the draft resolution was adjusted from five to four parts, with the addition of an appendix on 11 models attached to the resolution.

Concluding the meeting, Secretary of the city Party Committee Le Tien Chau stated that the committee’s Standing Board basically agreed with the proposal of the committee’s Board for Popularization, Education and Mass Mobilization and assigned the Party Committee of the city People’s Committee to take the lead in coordinating with the board to review each model, clarify resources, and complete the work before December 22 for submission to the city Party Committee at a conference later this month.

The Secretary noted that it is necessary to continue reviewing data and criteria in the spirit of setting standards higher than Central bodies’ regulations, meeting the goal of building Hai Phong into a worth-living city in the region.
