Hai Phong has 318 concentrated fruit-growing areas

According to the Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Environment, the city currently has 318 concentrated fruit-growing areas, each covering 1 hectare or more.

These areas include: lychee in Thanh Ha and Ha Dong communes; longan in Nguyen Trai and Tran Nhan Tong wards; custard apple in Luu Kiem and Tran Nhan Tong wards; bananas in Luu Kiem, Tu Ky, and Thanh Ha communes/wards; guava in Ha Nam and Ha Tay communes; and dragon fruit in Bac An Phu and Nguyen Trai wards.

These concentrated fruit-growing areas have been granted planting area codes, ensuring they meet the requirements for distribution in supermarket systems, convenience stores, and for export. Many types of fruit are labeled with traceability stamps and have been certified to meet VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards. The production value in some of these areas is high, reaching 300–400 million VND per hectare per year.

Currently, Hai Phong has more than 28,000 hectares of fruit trees. To enhance economic value, the city is implementing planning strategies and reorganizing its concentrated fruit-growing areas. By 2030, Hai Phong aims to have 9,900 hectares of fruit trees organized into concentrated zones of at least 3 hectares each.

The city prioritizes planning for lychee, banana, guava, and dragon fruit growing areas to serve both export markets and domestic consumption.
