Hai Phong is committed to accompanying, removing difficulties, and creating favorable conditions for foreign businesses to expand investment in the city.
Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau on July 15 hosted working sessions with Ambassadors of Belgium and Singapore to Vietnam, as well as the Chairman of the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EUROCHAM).
Chairman Le Ngoc Chau provided an overview of the city’s socio-economic development achievements, strengths and potential following its merger with Hai Duong province.
Over the past decade, Hai Phong has consistently maintained double-digit GRDP growth and has become one of the country’s top destinations for investment, attracting more than 1,900 projects with a total investment of nearly 50 billion USD.
Belgian Ambassador to Vietnam Karl Van Den Bossche, Singaporean Ambassador Jaya Ratnam, and EUROCHAM Chairman Bruno Jaspaert all praised the potential and advantages of the new Hai Phong city with greater resources in land, population, and economic scale, making it a new driving force for Vietnam’s development.
The Belgian Ambassador and EUROCHAM Chairman expressed hope that Hai Phong’s leadership will continue to accompany Belgian and European businesses and help resolve certain challenges so that the enterprises can continue to grow.
The Belgian Embassy and EUROCHAM pledged to work closely with the city in promoting its image, people, potential, and advantages and attract more Belgian and European investors to Hai Phong.
Chairman Le Ngoc Chau acknowledged and highly appreciated the role of Belgian businesses and development organizations investing in Hai Phong, including the DEEP C Industrial Complex.
Chau affirmed that the city will continue close coordination and regular dialogues to realize shared goals and ideas, and is committed to accompanying, removing difficulties, and creating favorable conditions for European and Belgian enterprises to expand investment in Hai Phong.
Ambassador Jaya Ratnam noted that many Singaporean businesses are exploring opportunities and plan to continue or expand investment in Hai Phong, contributing to the city’s sustainable and modern development.
The Singaporean Embassy expressed its desire to work with Hai Phong to further strengthen the Vietnam – Singapore partnership.
Chairman Le Ngoc Chau thanked Ambassador Ratnam for his interest in and efforts to foster investment in Hai Phong, and expressed hope that the proposed projects would be implemented soon. He confirmed that the city is ready to cooperate and support Singaporean businesses in their investment and project implementation.
