Gradually removing barriers

Viet Truong Co., Ltd. in Do Son ward, Hai Phong city, specializes in producing frozen aquatic products for both domestic consumption and export to the US as well as several European and Asian countries. The company recorded total revenue of 25 million USD in 2024 and aims to increase the 2025 revenue by 10% compared to the previous year.

However, the biggest obstacle to expanding export markets for the firm lies in raw material supply. The company leader expressed their hope that relevant departments, agencies, and farmers would work together to resolve difficulties, ensuring a sufficient supply of products to meet global customer demand.

In support of enterprises, during the dialogue of the Red River Delta region held within the framework of the Vietnam Private Sector Economic Forum 2025 (VPSF 2025) in Hai Phong at the end of August, Vice Chairman of the city People’s Committee Tran Van Quan, along with leaders of departments, agencies, and experts, directly answered, discussed, and clarified local businesses’ opinions, proposals, and challenges.

The Vice Chairman affirmed that in the coming time, the city’s authorities at all levels are committed to further improving the investment environment, gradually removing barriers, and creating the most favorable conditions for enterprises to develop and integrate into the economy.

Agricultural credit on the rise

Alongside the efforts of enterprises and the city authorities, credit institutions and banks have also stepped in to support businesses with capital, particularly by accelerating disbursement for the agricultural sector.

According to the State Bank of Vietnam, Region 6 (Hai Phong and Quang Ninh), by the end of August 2025, credit for the agro-forestry-fishery sector had grew by a strong double-digit rate of 23.53% compared to the end of 2024, accounting for 4.46% of total outstanding credit in the region.

Nguyen Thi Dung, Acting Director of the State Bank of Vietnam Region 6, reported that through dozens of meetings and dialogues between banks and enterprises organized in August, banks planned to provide loans totaling more than 3.1 trillion VND to 192 businesses, while also restructuring debt repayment terms, reducing interest rates and fees, etc. to support enterprises in production and business activities toward sustainable development.

According to Le Van Viet, Vice Chairman of the Hai Phong Young Entrepreneurs Association, in the coming time, the association will continue to coordinate closely with over 500 members to resolve the difficulties of micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises, including gradually improving the quality of local agro-processing products.

By applying a range of synchronous solutions, particularly maximizing the advantages of modern logistics infrastructure through inland container depots and cold and dry storage systems to better preserve agricultural products, Hai Phong aims to build an integrated industrial–agricultural economy, with an expectation to expand the reach of its high-value agricultural products to wider international markets.
