Hai Duong General Hospital successfully performs complex brain tumor surgery

The patient who underwent successful brain tumor surgery at Hai Duong General Hospital is Nguyen Thi Dong, 73, from Hai Hung commune, Hai Phong city. She was admitted to the hospital with hemiparesis accompanied by sudden headaches, slurred speech, and frequent vomiting.

Initial diagnosis suggested a stroke, but it was unclear whether it was caused by cerebral hemorrhage or cerebral infarction. She also had underlying conditions including hypertension and diabetes.

After being treated at the Stroke Department, Dong was discovered to have a large meningioma invading the midline. Due to her advanced age and multiple underlying diseases, her life would have been at risk without timely surgery.

Doctors at Hai Duong General Hospital proceeded with surgery to remove the tumor.
