Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has signed a decision assigning government leaders to oversee and direct localities in implementing the target of achieving economic growth of more than 10%.
Under the decision, deputy prime ministers will oversee the implementation of socio-economic development tasks set out in the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, government resolutions, and resolutions adopted by provincial and municipal Party Congresses for the 2025-2030 term.
The assignments are aimed at implementing Conclusion No. 18-KL/TW dated April 2, 2026 of the Party Central Committee’s 14th tenure, with the goal of achieving economic growth of more than 10% in 2026 and subsequent years.
Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc will oversee the Southeast region, including Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai and Tay Ninh.
Deputy Prime Minister Phan Van Giang will oversee the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions, including Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong.
Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra will oversee the Northern Midlands and Mountainous region, including Cao Bang, Dien Bien, Lang Son, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Son La, Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang.
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung will oversee the Mekong Delta region, including Can Tho, An Giang, Dong Thap, Ca Mau and Vinh Long.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang will oversee the Red River Delta region, including Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen and Bac Ninh.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau will oversee the North Central region, including Hue, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Tri.
The decision states that deputy prime ministers will proactively choose appropriate working methods with assigned localities in order to directly direct the implementation of socio-economic development measures, focusing on removing bottlenecks hindering growth, reforming administrative procedures, and promoting decentralization and delegation of authority in accordance with legal regulations.
The move is aimed at helping the country achieve economic growth of 10% or higher under Conclusion No. 18-KL/TW of the Party Central Committee.
The decision took effect on May 22, 2026.
