The Culture and Society Board of the Hai Phong People’s Council has received proposals from FDI enterprises for summarization and report to the council’s Standing Members for consideration and settlement.
On September 9, a supervisory delegation led by Nguyen Thanh Trung, Head of the Culture and Society Board of the Hai Phong People’s Council, reviewed the implementation of policies and laws for workers in the 2021–2024 period at Maple Co., Ltd. and Rorze Robotech Co., Ltd, two FDI enterprises the city city.
Speaking at the working session, Vice Chairman of the city People’s Council Nguyen Khac Toan expressed satisfaction with the business results as well as the proper implementation of worker-related policies and laws at the enterprises.
Toan suggested that the businesses continue to build on these achievements and, based on the State’s policies, introduce additional programs and activities to improve employees’ income and quality of life.
The enterprises were encouraged to coordinate with local authorities to take advantage of available digital infrastructure and public services invested in by the State to better care for workers’ welfare while reducing costs.
Regarding the proposals raised by the enterprises, the Vice Chairman of the city People’s Council assigned relevant departments to promptly resolve matters within their authority and compile a report for the council’s Standing Members to petition Central authorities on issues beyond the city’s jurisdiction. This aims to improve the investment environment, support enterprises, and enhance working conditions for the city’s labor force.
Maple Co., Ltd., located in VSIP Hai Phong industrial park, specializes in producing garments and printing products. The company employs 3,224 domestic workers and 28 foreign ones, with women accounting for 70% of the workforce. Monthly income per capita is 9 million VND.
Between 2021 and 2024, the company fully complied with labor contracts and social, health, and unemployment insurance contributions as required by law.
Meanwhile, Rorze Robotech Co., Ltd. has two factories in the Japan-Hai Phong industrial park, producing and assembling robots, mobile control devices, and semiconductor equipment. The company employs 2,992 workers, with women making up 21% of the workforce.
Since its establishment in 1996, the company has ensured wages, bonuses, and welfare benefits for workers. 96% of the employees are covered by social, health, and unemployment insurance, while the rest are on probation. Rorze Robotech was among the first companies to implement a two-day weekend schedule (Saturdays and Sundays).
