There are enterprises that have long partnered with and sponsored sports tournaments and teams in Hai Phong. Thanks to this support, the city’s sports movement has been able to develop strongly.
Balanced benefits
Hoang Phuc International and Thai Group are some of enterprises that have been accompanying the Hai Phong Football Club. This support gives the team extra motivation and stability in performance. Last season, Hai Phong ranked seventh on the league table, and after eight rounds of the 2025/2026 V-League, the club is temporarily standing in fifth place, a position many higher-rated teams have not achieved.
The city badminton team is sponsored by the Chinese sports brand Li-Ning. Hai Phong badminton athletes use Li-Ning sportswear in both training and competitions.
Hai Duong Water JSC. (HADUWACO) has sponsored multiple tournaments and teams for many years, including the U13 HADUWACO Hai Duong football team. In 2017, 2018, and 2019, the company sponsored the team with 1.5 billion VND each year. In 2020, it provided 600 million VND, and from 2021 to 2025, the annual sponsorship reached 750 million VND.
In addition to HADUWACO, many other enterprises have been supporting various teams or sponsoring competitions, such as Hoang Thach Cement Company (U10 football), Long Hai Co., Ltd. (table tennis); Lilama 69/3 JSC., Hai Duong Dike Construction and Rural Development JSC., Thanh Dong Real Estate JSC., and Quoc Anh Hai Duong Co., Ltd. (volleyball); Gia Bao Co., Ltd. (U11 football), among others.
Other businesses, even if not sponsoring annually, contribute funds to help teams purchase training equipment or reward athletes.
All of these efforts have enabled both public and high-performance sports in Hai Phong to grow strongly and sustainably over the years.
Positive effects
In Hai Phong, mentioning the U11 Hai Duong football team immediately brings to mind Nguyen Dinh Giang, Director of Gia Bao Co., Ltd. His company supported the team from its inception, helping it win five national championships and multiple second- and third-place finishes.
To date, Giang has established the U9 Gia Bao Hai Duong team and is its main sponsor. In the two seasons the team has participated, it won one championship and reached the quarterfinals once.
Thanks to sponsorship funding, the U11 Hai Duong and U13 HADUWACO Hai Duong football teams have more resources to recruit players, train, and compete in national tournaments. In the U13 national championship, the highest-level competition for this age group, U13 HADUWACO Hai Duong consistently ranks among the top teams, often reaching the finals or finishing third. Many players from the U11 and U13 teams have grown into professional athletes in Vietnam’s national championship, including Hoang Duc, Van Toan, Viet Hung, and Cong Phuong.
In table tennis, contributions from Long Hai Co., Ltd. and HADUWACO not only help the sport flourish across Hai Phong but also build a strong national team. The team has won overall titles in national championships and top positions in domestic competitions. Many current top Hai Phong players benefit from this sponsorship, including Nguyen Duc Tuan and Doan Ba Tuan Anh (SEA Games champions) and Bui Ngoc Lan (national champion).
Enterprise support for sports is not a new story and is often linked to brand promotion. However, most businesses that have sponsored Hai Phong sports do so voluntarily without any demands. They see contributing to and supporting sports as part of their responsibility and sharing benefits with the community.
