Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Do Thanh Trung has expressed his hope that artists will continue creating new works as Vietnam and the city are undergoing strong development.
Do Thanh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee and Chairman of the City People’s Committee, visited and presented gifts to a number of distinguished artists in the city on September 23.
Trung and his entourage visited artist Pham Loi in Gia Vien Ward and musician Tung Ngoc in Hai An Ward.
Trung acknowledged the two artists’ highly positive contributions to the development of music, enriching the city’s spiritual life and helping shape Hai Phong’s identity over the past time.
The chairman said the city is implementing a project to turn Hai Phong into a “City of Music” and expressed his hope that the artists will continue to contribute their dedication and accompany the city in implementing the project.
The official wished the two artists good health and expressed his hope that they will continue creating new works as the country and Hai Phong are undergoing strong development.
On this occasion, leaders of Viet Tiep Hospital presented the two artists with cards providing lifelong support for medical examinations, treatment and medication. Sao A D.C Investment Corporation provided each artist with VND 5 million per month.
The visits, encouragement and gift-giving activities provided timely support and encouragement, motivating the artists to continue contributing to the development of the city’s and the country’s arts and music.
