With its modern and synchronized infrastructure and transportation network, Hai Phong city is fully capable of hosting international tournaments.
Van Tran Hoan, Chairman of the Hai Phong Football Club, said that Hai Phong currently has a competition stadium and two training pitches meeting FIFA standards, all ready to host matches in Group A of the ASEAN Women’s Football Championship.
“With a modern, well-connected transportation system, including expressways, an international airport, seaports, and railways, and advanced infrastructure, Hai Phong has the conditions to organize international tournaments, contributing to promoting the city’s image and boosting sports tourism development,” Hoan affirmed.
Hai Phong has successfully organized many international sports events such as the 31st SEA Games, the Southeast Asian Rowing Championship, and the AFC U20 Asian Cup, and is becoming a favorite destination for international competitions.
The city boasts modern sports facilities including training grounds, football stadiums, a rowing training center, multi-purpose sports halls, and a network of international-standard golf courses, combined with comprehensive transport links and international-standard infrastructure. These are favorable conditions for hosting international sports events and opportunities to promote Hai Phong’s image, potential, and resources to foreign partners, investors, and tourists.
The 2025 ASEAN Women’s Football Championship, with Group A matches as well as the semi-finals and final to be held at Lach Tray Stadium, is an opportunity to promote Hai Phong’s image to friends worldwide.
Preparations have been carried out meticulously and are ready for the matches. The Asian Football Confederation has inspected facilities and highly praised the city’s preparations.
The 2025 ASEAN Women’s Football Championship in particular and international sports events in general present great opportunities for Hai Phong to expand its reach in sports while generating momentum for tourism and economic development. This aligns with the global trend of combining sports with tourism and investment. Therefore, sports professionals and Hai Phong city as a whole need to further invest in the sports infrastructure to build a brand in hosting international tournaments, thereby creating breakthrough resources to keep pace with new global economic trends.
