Vietnam is determined to claim the title at the 2025 ASEAN Women’s Championship on home soil.
The organizing committee of the 2025 ASEAN Women’s Championship held a press conference on the afternoon of August 5 ahead of the tournament’s opening round, with representatives from the four teams in Group A in attendance.
Speaking at the press conference, coach Mai Duc Chung of the Vietnam women's national team stated that the tournament presents a valuable opportunity for Southeast Asian teams to review their squads and gain international match experience. It also serves as important preparation for bigger goals ahead, particularly the 33rd SEA Games and the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup.
Coach Mai Duc Chung and his players also acknowledged that the teams in Group A are relatively evenly matched and all have shown strong determination going into this tournament. Therefore, the Vietnamese team will need to make full use of their strengths and capitalize on the home advantage to pursue their goal of winning the championship this year.
Coaches and players from all four teams in Group A commended the organizers for their thorough preparations and praised the facilities provided for training, competition, and accommodation. They described the tournament as a great chance for players to showcase their abilities and give their all in what promises to be a series of thrilling and dramatic matches for fans at Hai Phong’s Lach Tray Stadium.
