The Duoi Temple Festival in Yet Kieu Commune is taking place from September 3 to 5, featuring a range of cultural, artistic and sports activities.

The People's Committee of Yet Kieu Commune, Hai Phong City held the opening ceremony of the 2026 Duoi Temple Festival to commemorate the death anniversary of Empress Dowager Y Lan (the 25th day of the 7th lunar month) on September 3.

The festival is taking place from September 3 to 5, featuring a range of cultural, artistic and sports activities and folk games. The ceremonial section includes ceremonial announcements, the bathing ritual, a procession and incense offerings in commemoration of Empress Dowager Y Lan.

The ceremonial section includes ceremonial announcements, the bathing ritual, a procession and incense offerings in commemoration of Empress Dowager Y Lan.

The festival section features lion, unicorn and dragon dance performances, cultural exchanges, water puppetry, a festival of spirit mediumship performances honoring the Three Palaces Holy Mothers, along with various folk games and sports activities, creating a joyful atmosphere and attracting local residents and visitors.

Duoi is an ancient temple built during the Ly Dynasty on a raised area amid rice fields, surrounded by many old trees that create an ancient and tranquil setting. In 1992, Duoi temple was recognized as a national historical-cultural relic.

Through archaeological excavations, scientists discovered numerous architectural remains dating from the Ly and Tran dynasties. The temple's present-day architecture, with its layout and artistic features, was shaped during the Le Trung Hung period.
