The Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem Temple Festival preserves traditional rituals alongside cultural performances and sports imbued with folk culture.
The Trang Trinh Temple Festival will take place from January 15-17 (Lunar November 27-29) at the National Special Relic Site of Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem Temple in Nguyen Binh Khiem Commune, Hai Phong City.
In the framework of the festival, there will be a variety of traditional ceremonies, spiritual rituals, sports competitions, and cultural performances. This year's event marks the 440th death anniversary of Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem, serving as a key cultural activities ahead of the national celebrations. It notably spotlights efforts to nominate cultural celebrity Nguyen Binh Khiem for UNESCO recognition.
The annual festival preserves and promotes the relic site's values while commemorating the death anniversary of cultural celebrity Nguyen Binh Khiem. It also publicizes his life, career, and contributions, upholding the national pride and traditional cultural values tied to the National Special Relic Site of Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem Temple. The festival is recognised as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2019.
