The Hai Phong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the famtrip “Following the footsteps of Trang Trinh” on December 22.

The delegation visited several sites, including Mac Dynasty relic site in Kien Hung commune, Nguyen Binh Khiem temple in Nguyen Binh Khiem commune, and Mao Dien Temple of Literature in Mao Dien commune. These sites are closely associated with the life, career and legacy of Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem.

In addition to visiting and learning about the historical and cultural values of the relics, the delegation worked with representatives of management boards on developing engaging interpretive content, distinctive tourism products, linkages with related relic sites in Hai Phong, and tours serving visitors.

The program aims to introduce the outstanding universal value of the heritage system associated with the life, career and thought of Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem; create opportunities for travel businesses, media agencies and heritage experts to access and experience the sites in practice in order to develop distinctive tourism products themed around Trang Trinh.

It also collects information, images, current conditions of the relics, tourism products and accompanying services at the sites to support the preparation of a scientific dossier proposing UNESCO’s recognition of Trang Trinh.

The program seeks to strengthen communication and promotion of Hai Phong as a destination rich in cultural and historical traditions, contributing to the spread of the humanistic values of Trang Trinh Nguyen Binh Khiem.

From the beginning of the year to December 22, Mac Dynasty relic site welcomed more than 70,000 visitors, up 49% year on year; Nguyen Binh Khiem temple recorded 1.2 million visitors, up 10% from the same period last year; and Mao Dien Temple of Literature received 65,000 visitors, up 10% year on year, according to representatives of the site management boards.
