According to Ha Quang Thanh, Head of the Cam Giang Relic Management Division under the Con Son – Kiep Bac Relic Management Board, from November 15 to 30, Mao Dien Temple of Literature, a special national relic, welcomed 2,200 visitors, up 20% from the same period in 2024.
A notable change from previous years is that, besides students from schools, this year also saw an increase in individual and middle-aged visitors from across the country.
The heritage education program at the temple included various engaging activities. In addition to woodblock printing and Vietnamese traditional costume wearing, several new activities were introduced for the first time, such as conical hat sewing; enjoyment of Kiep Bac lotus tea and Con Son chrysanthemum tea; and a free screening of the film “Mui Co Chay” (The Scent of Burning Grass).
Many other activities were also offered, including incense offering, guided tours about the examination grounds across historical periods; calligraphy and learning about the structure and semantic breakdown of ancient Vietnamese characters; exploration of the scholars’ village and books of renowned figures; life skill learning from heritage; xam and ca tru singing; enjoyment of local specialties and book introductions; etc.
